Flood Defence Systems Ltd. (FDSL) is a flood barrier system manufacture,r incorporated in 2019, to answer the emerging short and medium term need for flood protection systems that can be rapidly deployed to, and removed from, Critical Infrastructure sites and High Value Assets at major risk of flooding.
Bob Parsons founded Flood Defence Systems Ltd. in the Summer of 2019 after the catastrophic flooding near his hometown of Ottawa, during which he spent several days helping to build sandbag defences in local communities.
He spent 25 years in the British Army, serving around the world and leading many humanitarian and disaster relief operations.
After leaving the Army, Bob joined Lockheed Martin UK and won several large government contract before being seconded to the company’s Canadian operations where he stayed to lead business development for a major business unit. In 2006 he joined OSI Geospatial, a leading geointelligence company, where he led the Land Systems business development through several commercialization and mergers and acquisitions activities.
In 2010 Bob moved to HDT Global and directed business development in Canada, Central/South America, the UK and the EU. He also took over as the Managing Director of all HDT’s Canadian operations.
Bob holds a Bachelors degree in Engineering and an MBA from Portsmouth University. He's a rugby enthusiast, a gourmet cook and spends part of his spare time chasing golf balls around the most inaccessible areas of golf courses in the nation's capital.
